Online Experience B Reflection

Technology is very important in our lives because it changes the way the world around us works. Technology has changed over the last 5 years a lot. People use computers more today, then they did 5 years ago. Technology is always changing and will continue to change in the next 5 years. I typically use a computer to do my school work and I use a calculator too. I use my phone and iPod a lot for personal use. I have an iPhone so it is really easy to just check what I need to look up. I use my ipod a lot for listening to music and taking pictures. I think people will use the skills in online b in the future in presentations. I think the job skills is the most important part to learn in this class. I will never use the digital story again.My favorite would have to screen casting and my least favorite would have to be the digital portfolio.

I like using the first website more than screenr. I had problems with screenr with it not letting me record several takes.

Screencast

A screencast is something that allows you to record what you are doing on the computer to demonstrate a certain task. You can speak and explain at the same time you are showing it. I like that you can record your screen without having to set a camera up to it. I didn't like that you couldn't cut parts out of what you recorded. It can be helpful if you need to show someone how to do something and you cant be there to show them what to press. I think this would be most helpful to teachers to show their students what to do.

I like Live much better than Google Docs because I like the set up of word. Google Docs is nice but I don't like that what you can do is limited.

Samsung Phone With Face Recognition

Samsung has developed a phone with voice and face recognition abilities. That makes Samsung a leading competitor with Apple and the iPhone 4s. Samsung has overtaken Nokia as the worlds best selling phone company. The phone recognizes when the screen has eye contact and does not dim while it is in use.

Career Assignment

The career cluster I got was the Arts. The jobs that fall under the arts category are audio/video technology and film, printing technology, visual arts, performing arts, broadcasting, and journalism. To work in this field you must be good at planning, designing, producing, performing, and writing. I think that arts is a good choice because I've wanted to be in audio engineering since the 5th grade. I absolutely love the arts and working in the field would only make sense.

Review

Google Docs is a part of google that lets you create and share documents with other people. The people you share the document with can also edit the document at the same time you are working on it. Wikis are websites that allow you to make a page about a certain topic. You can put anything on your website. Assistive Technology is technology that helps people with disabilities use the computer, type, or do many other things. Electronic Portfolios are websites that allow you to post your work to show to when applying for a job or applying for a college.

Spring Break

1. They cannot prove that it is true because they aren't there to see what really goes on all the time.
2. I'd be pretty upset because it wasn't meant for everyone else to see.
3. Yes, because social networking sites get such a bad reputation when they really arent all that bad.

Google Docs

I liked that google docs made working on a project easier by letting you access it anywhere. I also liked that you and your partner could work on something at the same time without having to switch computers all the time. I didn't like that your partners work could mess up what you are doing. I also didnt like that it didnt have as many features as microsoft office. I did like being able to work on the document at the same time as my partner. I think google docs could add more font choices and features that you can use. I think my project turned out good overall.

Nokia Eyes Tattoo That Talk To Your Phone

The Finnish brand Nokia has come up with an idea of a tattoo that will vibrate with your phone. The tattoo is made up of magnetic ink embedded in the skin to interact with the electromagnetic field put off by your phone. They do not know when this technology will be ready to use. If you don't want to get a tattoo, you can also get a bandage or a label to send off the same signal.
