Jean Hoerni

Jean was a member of the Traitorous Eight. He worked as a silicon transistor pioneer. He is remembered for making the planar process. He helped make computers smaller by using a chip. The planar process is a method of producing diffused junctions in semi conductor devices. Holes are etched into an oxide layer formed on a silicon substrate.
